ECOFIN has many years of experience in selecting portfolio managers. Since the beginning of the 1990s we have been selecting domestic and foreign specialists for our clients in a broad range of investment classes. To date, ECOFIN has placed asset management mandates worth more than CHF 20 billion for pension funds, foundations, trusts and family offices.

ECOFIN does not have any links with asset managers and can thus guarantee its clients complete independence.

A large number of asset managers are considered in each selection, thereby creating the necessary conditions for competition.

Structured selection process

Portfolio managers are selected in a structured selection process.

Mandate specification

Stipulation of investment target, investment universe, benchmark, tracking error parameters, investment guidelines, etc.

Shortlist

Pre-selection of suitable asset managers. Basis: In-house PMDB-Online® database with information on more than 200 domestic and foreign asset managers (firm, products, investment teams, historic performance, etc.).

Due diligence

Request for proposal, analysis and evaluation of proposals received, making a recommendation, preparation and attendance at a round of presentations.
